There will be six Aston Martin Vantage GS cars competing in the 2013 Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge this year which starts this weekend at the Daytona International Speedway. Four cars are being entered by Multimatic Motorsports, one by Aston Martin partner team TRG and one through Automatic Racing.
Aston Martin Racing works drivers, Darren Turner and Stefan Mucke, will be racing the TRG entered car and with strong entries from the other teams, there is a good chance that an Aston Martin will win the championship this year. The cars have already proven their pace with two of the Multimatic cars topping the timesheets at the Rolex 24 test earlier this month.
The Aston Martin Vantage GS is fundamentally a standard Vantage GT4 but with some minor modifications to meet the US series regulations. For more information about Aston Martin race cars please visit www.astonmartin.com/racing/aston-martin-race-cars or contact jwalters@astonmartinracing.com.
