The latest digital offering from Aston Martin is the introduction of the Configurator iPad app. Building on the success of our hugely popular online configurator, we wanted to create an app which took all the great functionality of our online tool and placed it at the fingertips of our dealers, customers and of course, the millions of Aston Martin fans and enthusiasts around the globe.
The app is a crucial tool for Aston Martin dealers in building up visuals for our customers during the specification phase of a purchase. But beyond that it has proven to be a fantastic enabler of creativity and passion among fans on social media. Many people already have an idea of their perfect Aston Martin - our new configurator iPad app brings those dreams to life in stunning visual detail. Using a combination of exquisite photography, highly-detailed CGI effects and the myriad design variations available, the configurator harnesses your imagination, whilst cultivating your creativity.
Below we have a short guide which we hope serves as a useful overview to the many features of the app; whether you’re building up your specification for a trip to an Aston Martin dealer or simply want to share your ultimate design with friends and like-minded fans online.
Choosing your Aston Martin
It may seem like a simple choice, but with over 12 different models from our stunning model range to choose from, this may also be the trickiest decision you have to make!
Swipe either way to run through our complete model range – from the timeless elegance of DB9, to the ferocity of the extreme V12 Vantage S. The app includes all possible variations to our cars, offering coupe and volante formats where available, alongside the full range of customisations within.

Designing the exterior
Building the exterior of an Aston Martin is so much more than choosing your favourite colour. With over 30 exterior paints available for most models and additional detailing possible, such as instantly recogniseable carbon fibre options – refining your Aston Martin exterior is a process to savour.
Depending on the model, you'll have the option to select your wheel type, caliper colour, grille and mesh detailing, all the way through to roof and rear graphics and iconic Aston Martin lipstick.
Refining an interior
Once you've designed an exterior to suit, it's time to venture inside your ultimate creation and start the process of moulding a perfect Aston Martin interior. You'll find a huge array of colour combinations to complement each vehicle, leaving you free to experiment with the variations and discover the exact match to suit your tastes. Remember, this is your Aston Martin, and your design statement.
We'd suggest starting with the key features – select a Primary and Secondary colour to provide the basis of your colour scheme, before working your way through the many details within your console and seating. Why not enhance a darker theme with a flash of light? Highlight stitching throughout is available on all Aston Martins.

Enhancing with options & accessories
Our options and accessories are included for figurative purposes only, so while they won't find their way onto your final design, they do provide vital detail if your plan is to take your creation to your Aston Martin dealership.
Take your dream car to the next level with these additional touches, each with the targeted comfort and individualism of every Aston Martin driver in mind.

Sharing your creation
You'll see on the top right of the app you have the option to save your designwork so you can return to it at a later time, or to submit it to your local dealer along with your full specification.
Right now we don't have social media sharing included within the app, but with the ability to quickly and simply grab a screenshot on the iPad, your image can easily be sent to your camera roll and available for you to share on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram - your social network of choice.
To take a screenshot, briefly press both the home and power button at the same time - the screen will flash and an image of your screen will be saved to your camera roll.
